The Necessity of Using the Private Sector Capacity for Infrastructure Development

The scientific secretary of the National Conference on Public Private Partnership for Infrastructure Development said: "using the capacity of the

private sector is essential in planning, implementation and exploitation of the projects, and can contribute to the development of infrastructures." Talking to our reporter in the margins of the conference, Gholam Hossein Firouzfar added: "the third Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Public Private Partnership for Infrastructure Development is to be held in Iran with the presence of 62 countries in this years Aban". He stated that "this conference is will be organized by the Islamic Republic of Iran in cooperation with ESCAP, one of the UN commissions. Firouzfar added: "aiming at presenting a technical, integrated report in the Ministerial Conference, the National Conference on Public Private Partnership for Infrastructure Development was organized to make the participants and officials more familiar with the literature in this field."

Stating that the participation of the private sector for the development of infrastructures, he added: "however, the private sector participation should not be in form of transferences, but the capacity of this sector should be used in form of cooperation". The scientific secretary added, "40 articles will be presented by the experts in this two-day conference lying in four main categories: the capacity of the private and cooperative sector, the capacity of the public sector, legal strategies to assure the prosperity of the private sector, and financial markets."
